Applied Nanotech Holdings, Inc. is a nanotechnology company engaged in research and development based on our intellectual property and the knowledge that we have developed over the years. We intend to establish a portfolio of recurring revenue streams by licensing this intellectual property to others. Much of our research is based on novel applications of carbon nanotube technology and other related technologies. Our
business model is to license our intellectual property to others. We have built an extensive intellectual property portfolio and currently have over 200 patents and patent applications pending. Our research tends to fall in one of four main areas: Electron emissions including displays, sensors, functional nanomaterials, and nanoelectronics.
The initial focus of the Company was on a next generation technology called Field Emission Display. All of our current areas of research are an outgrowth of the things that we have learned in our FED research. The current state of the art field emission displays use carbon nanotubes and we have been using carbon nanotubes in displays for several years. As a result of the extensive knowledge of carbon nanotubes that we gained in this process, we began applying that knowledge to other areas such as sensors and nanomaterials. Our initial work in those areas then expanded into other areas.
