Eckerd And SI Diamond Announce An Agreement To Install 10 Indoor Digital Displays For Point-Of-Sale Advertising
Austin, Texas – February 26, 2001 – SI Diamond Technology, Inc. (OTC BB: SIDT) through its subsidiary, Electronic Billboard Technology (EBT) and Eckerd Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of JCPenney (NYSE: JCP), announced today they have reached an agreement to expand the current pilot program (see press release of February 1, 2000) to include indoor point-of- sale displays. Under the terms of the agreement, EBT will install its indoor display products at ten different Eckerd locations in four states.
The indoor pilot program will run for 30 to 60 days at the ten locations that have already been selected by EBT and Eckerd. EBT expects to have all of the indoor displays installed and operational by the end of March 2001. The products installed, which will vary by store location, will include EBT's Digital Banner and Digital Poster. Upon completion of the test period, Eckerd will evaluate the results and decide whether to expand the program to additional stores.
"We are very pleased to be expanding our relationship with Eckerd," said Marc Eller, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SIDT. "We believe that our indoor digital displays combined with our networking technologies will revolutionize point-of-sale advertising, and enable both retailers and advertisers to more effectively reach their target audience," continued Eller.
